Dear Ravenswood Families and Community,
Welcome to the 2026–27 school year!
Each new school year brings renewed energy, possibility, and hope. Across Ravenswood, our classrooms and campuses are ready to welcome students into spaces where they feel known, valued, challenged, and supported.
Our commitment remains clear: to fulfill the Ravenswood Promise by creating an exceptional and transformative educational experience for every student.
This year, our theme is Leading with Courage.
Courage is not simply about being fearless. It is the willingness to try a new approach, ask for help, have an honest conversation, and continue moving forward when the work becomes difficult. Courage is a practice, and we build it together—one decision and one action at a time.
As a district, we will pair courage with accountability. That means holding high expectations while also providing high levels of support. It means celebrating our progress, honestly acknowledging where we must improve, and continuing to work together until every student succeeds.
Our work this year will remain centered on three interconnected priorities:
- Literacy and Language: Ensuring every student develops the reading, writing, speaking, and language skills needed to thrive.
- Attendance and a Sense of Belonging: Creating welcoming schools where students feel connected, valued, and excited to learn each day.
- Talent: Supporting and developing the exceptional educators and staff members who serve our students and families.

This progress was possible because of the partnership among students, families, educators, and community members. We will continue building on this success, ensuring that every day a student is present becomes an opportunity to learn, connect, and grow.
We are also investing in the people who make the Ravenswood Promise possible. Fifty-nine team members received Ravenswood Education Foundation grants for professional learning, 15 received support toward earning their credentials, and our partnerships helped bring four new teachers and nine student teachers, residents, and fellows into our district.
None of this work happens alone. Every conversation, every lesson, every decision, and every act of follow-through moves us closer to the future our students deserve.
Families and community partners are essential members of this effort. We invite you to remain connected, communicate openly with your school, celebrate your child’s growth, and partner with us when challenges arise. When we work together with courage, care, and accountability, we make even the most difficult goals possible.
We know we can do this because we have and because we are Ravenswood.
Welcome back! We look forward to a joyful and courageous year of learning, belonging, and shared success.
For our students,
